NY 2015 Setbacks
When discussing my 2015 visions and goals in a past entry, I didn’t really think of the setbacks I’d be coming face-to-face with, but I am tackling my current one head-on.
On December 29th I decided to go ahead with a surgery that I had been contemplating for years. And, while I waited until the 11th hour to decide, I am nonetheless beyond ecstatic with the decision I made. It will, however, and has already created, some struggles in the NY when it comes to preparing for my half-marathon training as well as working out and staying in shape. Basically, the doctor said no activity for 6 weeks…Not sure how that will pan out as I am already going through exercise withdrawals and recently purchased a new pair of Newtons begging to be broken in.

Until I can start cycling and doing lower body work in 2-3 weeks time, I will at least amble around and take my 30 days of clean eating very seriously. I’ll start my 30 day clean eating plan January 6th and continue until February 7th. It will follow pretty basic guidelines that I usually adhere to, but this month there will be no cheating whatsoever.
Clean eating plan:
January 6th-February 6th
1. No gluten
2. No foods with added sugars; no agave, honey etc.
3. No dairy; I am a sucker for milk and yogurt and will use alternatives.
4. No diet drinks; I did very well with this for quit a while but really fell off the bandwagon with this in recent months.
This is a pretty simple plan and I am excited to report back my results after the end of the month.
Is there anything else you think is important to add to the above guidelines?
